FAQ

Questions, Answered

SoarApex, as bulk signal detector supplier for security, we provide portable spectrum analyzer 9kHz to 6GHz — from detection range and frequency bands to alert mechanisms and power requirements.

01

What frequency bands do these detectors cover?

Our drone signal detectors cover the most common UAV communication bands: 433MHz / 900MHz for long-range data links, and 2.4GHz / 5.8GHz for video transmission and control. Wideband models extend coverage from 400MHz to 6GHz, covering FPV drones, DJI, Autel, and DIY platforms. For spectrum analyzers, frequency range extends from 9kHz to 6GHz.
02

How far can a drone detector detect a UAV?

Detection range depends on the drone’s transmit power and environmental conditions. In a clean electromagnetic environment, typical detection ranges are: 0-5km for protocol-based detection (CRPC/RID), 0-1.5km for 433MHz data links, and 0-3km for 915MHz data links. Entry-level detectors typically achieve 1.5-2km detection range for standard consumer drones. Rain, buildings, and RF interference can reduce effective range.
03

How does the detector alert me when a signal is found?

Detection alerts vary by model: Entry-level detectors use visual + vibration alerts, displaying the detected drone image and frequency band on screen. Professional spectrum analyzers provide real-time spectrum display, spectrogram (waterfall), and audio demodulation. Some signal detectors models support directional finding — rotate the device 360° and the screen arrows guide you to the signal source direction.
04

Do I need a license to operate a signal detector?

Passive detectors (those that only receive signals) generally do not require a license in most jurisdictions, as they do not transmit RF energy. However, active jamming or interference equipment is heavily regulated and requires special authorization. Always check your local regulations before operating. Our detectors are passive receive-only devices and are CE/RoHS compliant.
05

What’s the battery life of these detectors?

Battery life varies by model: Entry-level drone detectors typically operate for 6-8 hours on a full charge. Professional spectrum analyzers provide 3-4 hours of continuous operation due to higher processing power. Most models use rechargeable lithium batteries (e.g., 11.1V 4Ah) and support AC charging. Some models support hot-swappable batteries for extended field use.
06

Do you support bulk orders, OEM, and fast dispatch?

Yes. We support bulk orders for security companies, event organizers, UAV service providers, and government agencies. CE / RoHS compliant certification is available on all models. Standard orders ship within 48 hours; bulk orders and custom configurations may require longer lead time. For bulk pricing, private-label branding, or sourcing specific models not listed on our store, contact our engineering team directly with your detection requirements.
