FAQ

Questions, Answered

Everything you need to know about industrail battery health and capacity load tester tools — from choosing between entry-level and professional testers to understanding internal resistance and state-of-health metrics.

01

What’s the difference between entry-level and professional testers?

Entry-level testers (like the Duoyi DY-2015A) measure basic metrics: voltage, state-of-health (SOH), and cold cranking amps (CCA). They’re ideal for quick checks in automotive and UAV battery maintenance. Professional testers (like the UNI-T UT675A) additionally measure internal resistance, actual capacity, and support a wider range of chemistries. All our testers work with LiPo, Li-ion, LiFePO4, and lead-acid batteries — the same tester can diagnose a drone pack and a car battery, as long as the voltage is within range. Choose entry-level UAV battery health tester for LiPo packs on routine field checks, professional for lab-grade diagnostics or warranty claims.
02

Can these testers be used on drone LiPo batteries?

Yes. Our LiFePO4 battery capacity tester for solar storage and UAVs cover a 12V-48V working range, which handles the vast majority of UAV battery packs — from 3S (11.1V) to 12S (44.4V) LiPo, Li-ion, and LiFePO4 packs. Both entry-level and professional models measure voltage and internal resistance on these chemistries. For very high-capacity smart batteries (like DJI TB60 or agriculture drone packs above 48V), you may need a dedicated high-voltage tester — contact us with your battery specs and we’ll recommend the right model. Always check the tester’s rated voltage range before connecting your battery.
03

What is internal resistance, and why does it matter?

Internal resistance (measured in milliohms, mΩ) is the opposition to current flow inside a battery. As batteries age or degrade, internal resistance increases — meaning they deliver less usable power and generate more heat under load. A sudden rise in internal resistance is often the first sign of a failing battery, even before capacity drops noticeably. Professional testers like the UT675A measure this precisely, allowing you to predict battery failure before it happens.
04

How do I know when a battery needs replacing?

A battery should be replaced when: (1) State-of-Health (SOH) drops below 80% of its rated capacity; (2) Internal resistance rises more than 20-30% above the manufacturer’s specification; (3) Cranking amps (for automotive batteries) fall below the rated CCA value; or (4) Voltage drops significantly under load. Our UAV battery health testers for LiPo packs display these values directly, making the “replace or keep” decision straightforward.
05

Do I need an electronic load in addition to a tester?

Not for routine testing — a battery tester gives you instant voltage, SOH, and internal resistance readings. An electronic load is needed when you want to run a full discharge curve test to measure the true usable capacity of a battery under controlled conditions. Electronic loads are primarily used in lab environments, R&D, and for validating batteries before critical missions. For most field maintenance tasks, a battery tester alone is sufficient.
06

Can I order battery testers in bulk or for my organization?

Yes. As an industrail battery health and capacity load tester tools supplier, we support bulk orders for enterprise clients, UAV service companies, automotive repair chains, and educational institutions. CE / RoHS compliant certification is available on all models. For bulk pricing, custom calibration certificates, private-label packaging, or OEM branding, please contact our engineering team directly.
